Unwanted hair may appear in places we don’t like or expect whether male or female. Unwanted hair may be unsightly, embarrassing or annoying. However, with today’s lasers shaving, plucking, waxing and chemical depilatories can be things of the past.
With laser hair removal being non-invasive, it is easy to treat delicate skin in larger areas without disruption to the structure of the outer layer of skin. It is important to remember that the laser can only destroy hair in its active growth phase, called the anagen phase. Up to 85% of our hair is in this phase at any given time and the positive aspect to that is that during this phase, our hair has an abundance of melanin and the hair follicle is easily targeted.
Laser Hair Removal – Compared with electrolysis, Laser Hair Removal is 60 times faster, less painful and 40% more effective. A single laser treatment can reduce hair 10–40%, three to five treatments 30-70%, and six to eight treatments as much as 90%. Most patients see a significant reduction in the total number of hairs after three to five treatments. With additional treatments, fewer and fewer hairs return. The ideal candidate has dark hair that has not been plucked, waxed or treated with electrolysis or depilatories in the past 6 weeks. White, blonde, red and silver hairs do not respond well to laser hair removal.
